Cupid is one of my favorite people, because he spreads love, gives love, and makes couples fall in love, which is great for the wedding industry. Most of all, I love Cupid is because he teaches us to love. Since Valentine's Day is tomorrow, Cupid wanted to share some of his favorite poems for you to pass on to your love ones. Hope this inspires you to show the love tomorrow! I am so happy he agreed to guest blog for me today! -Percy
Hello Lovers and Happy Valentines Day! May the following inspire you on this day of L'Amour!
Ah My Beloved - Omar Khayyam
Ah, my beloved, fill the cup that clears
Today of past regrets and future fears;
Tomorrow? Why, tomorrow I may be,
Myself, with yesterday's sev'n thousand years.
Love is Enough - William Morris
Love is enough: though the World be a-waning,
And the woods have no voice but the voice of complaining,
Though the sky be too dark for dim eyes to discover
The gold-cups and daisies fair blooming thereunder,
Though the hills be held shadows, and the sea a dark wonder,
And this day draw a veil over all deeds pass'd over,
Yet their hands shall not tremble, their feet shall not falter;
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.
Sonnet 18 - William Shakespeare
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st:
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.
Happy Valentine's Day
